Another First

A weekend of firsts...well why not right? After my first blog hop  yesterday I am moving on to my first entry for the Digi Darla's Challenge. And here she is...

This little sweetie is Crissy and UmbrellaI colored her with Prismacolor pencils and OMS. The papers are from my stash (I think the are DCWV from ages ago). I created the sentiment myself with a font called Zipity Do and used a cloud die from PTI. The little "love" hearts are a font called Sweet Hearts BV that I fussy cut (pure determination there my friends...haha!).

I stumbled across Digi Darla's stamps and it was love at first sight...haha! They were too darn sweet to pass up! And they have freebies! And we all know how I feel about freebies...woohoo! So I HAD to make a card with one of these little darlins. And lucky for me they have challenges where you can get another one of their stamps just for entering. Now how can you beat that?!? So here goes on the entry...Wish me luck!
Thanks for stopping by and until next time...take care.

Sending My Love

A post card stamp? SWEET! Make your own...any time you want...any way you want! SUPER SWEET! I was soo excited when I found the Post Card Stamp Pack at the
Stamping Dragon Designs storeIt comes with four different designs for you to play around with...decisions, decisions. But, oh what fun!

You take a good look at my postcard and may be wondering who are Janette and Beth and why is she sending love to them? Well it is because they are special to me. Janette is the owner of Stamping Dragon Designs (the queen dragon if you will)...and Beth is the Administrator and all around go to gal. I would not be doing this were it not for them. They gave me my "break' so to speak into the world of being a Design Team Member (which is super spectacular!. So I am sending them some lovin' for that and for all they do behind the scenes so people like you and me can have such awesome products to use on our cards and other projects. Woohoo!

Speaking of products the Post Card Stamp was not the only SDD product I used on this little lovely. I also used the
Hippy Love Stamp and the Blazing Summer Mini digital kit to liven it all up a bit...haha! They were a combo that I just had to try out. I used the digital paper piecing method on it and could not have been happier with the results. I am loving that! I also used one of the elements from the mini kit on the right side of the card. It was just meant to be there I think.
So there you have it my friends...great products for a couple of great ladies...with a big lovin THANK YOU!

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget about the challenge going on over at Stampin with the Dragon...there is still plenty of time to join in! Until next time...take care.

A Little Reminder

Have you been thinking about it? Are you getting excited yet? Well I am here to remind you and get you excited! For coming this Friday February 10, 2012 is really BIG Blog Hop to introduce the new Event Team at The Crafter's Cafe.

To help you start getting EXCITED (if you aren't already...and if that is the case this will make probably make you even MORE EXCITED) I think we need a little sample of what is to come. Would that help? Would you like to see a little taste of what is going to be the bestest Blog Hop ever!

Well I have been given a stamp by one of our VERY generous sponsors

so that I could make this project to share with you before THE BIG DAY!

Isn't this stamp awesome?!? It is true...I am an owl lover from way back (before they were the "in thing") so I may be biased...well that and I love TSB stamps to begin with sooo...
The name of the stamp is Owl Family and it's a  newbie. I saw it and instantly pictured lots of color. I do believe this card fills the bill on that one! I used digital paper piecing...totally cool (showing my age a bit there...haha)! If you do digital and have never tried this technique you SERIOUSLY need to TRY IT! It is almost as sweet as the stamp itself...almost.

If you like this stamp you really should pop over and give
The Stamping Boutique a good look! They have a HUGE selection of digital stamps to chose from!

Keep a watch out for specials on Wednesdays over there...oh wait is today Wednesday...I think it is...haha! Maybe there will have a special today! If you want the inside track on their specials all you need to do is become a follower of The Stamping Boutique Challenge Blog and it will tell you everything you need to know...about the sales anyway...oh and the challenges...and the freebies too...haha.

And don't forget the Blog Hop is just the beginning! On Saturday February 11, 2012 we are having our Craft and Chat! This is going to be sooo much fun!If you have not joined
The Crafter's Cafe yet NOW is the time! Come join us!

There will be things happening all day long leading up to the LIVE chat where we will make little pizza boxes. It is a NOT TO BE MISSED deal here folks! Come one...come all!

Hope to see you there my friends!
Until next time...take care.

Challenge #3

Time for a new challenge at Stampin with the DragonThis Challenge is brought to you by

and they are offering the winner of this challenge a  $5 Gift Certificate to their store. Woohoo!

Please remember that we are offering a 2nd prize to one of you who use one of our images for this challenge.  You will have the chance to win an image from our store and you can be our next Guest Design Team Member.

The challenge this time around is to use this photo by Shutter Stock as an inspiration for your love themed card.

Let me introduce you to the man of the hour:

This is my man, Howie Hot Hot Hot from none other than Dude Time Doodles. What a man...he's trying to put out the flames of love...or maybe he isn't...haha! I had a lot of fun with this one. Dude Time has very different from the norm stamps...eclectic some would say... and they are much fun to work with just for that reason. I like it! I like it a lot! They are worth checking out folks. Yesiree...they certainly are. They have a lot of mannish and raw humor stamps that one cannot find elsewhere! I will be doing some shopping there myself. So the men in my life had better watch out because Dude Time Doodles is on my mind...haha!

So I used my own little mind yep I have one(they did and MRI and everything)...haha and a really cool font of flames and created the sentiment myself...(((patting me on the back))). I'm pleased with it after a lot of hit and miss in creating this baby. I also used digital paper ( which I cannot seem to find again to give credit...sorry if it belongs to you!), Stampin' Up paper and some Georgia Pacific thrown in for good measure. And to color the man (to give him that extra somethin' somethin'...hehe) I used prismacolor pencils and OMS. He is such a stud! HAHA!
There you have it my friends. You should go on over to Dude Time Doodles and give em a good once over for they got it going on'. I know I am heading there right now...yeah! Maybe I'll see ya there...haha.

And make sure to join in the fun with this new challenge at Stampin with the Dragon!
Thanks for stopping by and until next time...take care.

Ready to join in and checkit out yet? There is more fun in store but you will need to go stop by TCC and find out all the details for yourself. It is not to be missed...really!

My Sample

My first  project for The Crafter's Cafe is a sample to promote The Crafter's Cafe Challenge Blog. We were given some beautiful stamps by one of my favorites...A Day For Daisies to use. Tammy does such wonderful things. It is so worth taking a look!

 And here is my card...

Isn't she just too sweet? The stamp that is (not my card...although I think it is passable...haha!) The stamps name is Sleeping Flower...and when we were told that challenge was to use the colors red, pink and purple together I knew she was the one for me. I pictured the flower in my minds eye to look like this! I love it when a plan comes together and things work out like you thought 'em!
Anyway...I used prismacolor pencils and OMS to color her in and get that blend I thunk. I used colors matched up to the papers and ribbon that are all from Papertrey Ink (another of my favorite companies!) The pearls are from Stampin' Up and I used a glitter gel pen to add a touch of sparkle to the tip of her wand and on her wings. I hope you like it and are inspired to create  a project of your own. Now that you know about the new challenge head on over and give it a try! Let me know how you do.
Thanks for stopping by! I will be posting several more things today so stay tuned and don't miss out! Woohoo!

Puppy Love

What a little sweetie! I saw this little pup and had to use him on a card. "Fido" here (not his real name but I am going to call him that for now...haha) is a stamp called Spotty Pups Valentine Heart and can be found at none other than our very own...Stamping Dragon Designs! YEAH!! Yes, folks SDD has more than just dragons...regardless of what the name may be. They have lots and lots of stamps that are lots of things other than dragons...go check it out! We love our friends the dragons but there are things in "Fido"... that are nice also. And today "Fido" (Spotty Pup)is making his debut on my blog so you all can see just what I mean. I will eventually be using more of SDD's stamps that are not dragons but Penny, Jiggy and Rupert are so cute that it might be a while. I guess if you are looking for something other than my dragon friends (and you are in a rush) you may have to go to Stamping Dragon Designs and look for yourself...haha. It's can look...don't be shy... just head right on over there and take give the place a once-over (or twice-over...haha). You never know what you might find and fall in love with. It is close to Valentine's Day and we all need someone (or something) to love, right. And would cute, sweet, adorable stamps be a good thing? I most certainly think so!
Just a note: for those of you new to the blogging game if you place your cursor on the highlighted words above and click they will take you to what the words say. ie: Stamping Dragon Designs above will take you to the storefront. Kinda cool, huh? So you can go check it out very effortlessly! You don't to try and figure it out on your own. It is already linked up for you! Sweet!
So now on to the rest of the card...whew! The papers are digital and are from the store. They are from the Pretty in Pink Cardmaking Pack. I am loving these cardmaking packs! They are so versatile and come with a great selection of papers and elements too. I actually used three of the papers for my card. I loved not having to waste time trying to find three papers that go together! Woohoo!
Ok...that's it for this time. WOW...guess I was feeling wordy today...haha. Thanks for hangin' with me (in my wordiness) and for stopping by. Until next time take care.

Rockin' Rupert

There's just something about a guy with a true that is! And for Rupert there is no excepetion to that...well other than he is a dragon there isn't...hehe. But he has that certain something too...jammin' away in this Rupert Plays Rock stamp from Stamping Dragon Designs. I saw this stamp and couldn't resist! And I knew I had the perfect sentiment to go with it from Ginger's House! It was a match made in stamper's heaven...ahhh! I love it when a plan come together...haha! The paper I used for this card was from the Cafe Pigalle Cardmaking Pack also available at SDD. I only used one of the papers for my background but blocked it out and turned the stripes in different directions to give it some interest. I love using this method! And the scalloped square behind Rupert is another paper from same said collection. Very pretty colors! You should really check it out! There are several other papers I didn't use and also elements in the pack. This collection could be used for scrapbooking just as easily if one would be so inclined.
I used my Prismacolor pencils with OMS method to color Rupert and his awesome guitar in. Added some linen thread from Stampin' Up and some star brads from Joann Fabric's and he was ready to roll (Rock and Roll that is)hehe.
This card is my DT card for Challenge #2. The info for this challenge is included below. As always, thanks for stopping by and until next time...take care.

Jiggy Likes To Read

Jiggy has a new book just for you! He loves to read and wanted to share his love and his thoughts on the subject with you (he is just kind of sweet that way). The stamp I used is called Jiggy's Book...he knows a good pastime when he sees it!  haha!
This was a fun card to make with the inside looking like an open book. This said open book is and element in the Southern Comfort Page Kit. The outside of my card (book) is a paper from this same kit. I loved the warm feeling the colors in this set gave me and when I saw the book and knowing how Jiggy felt about reading I had to do this card!
An additional item I used from Stamping Dragon Designs  is the Definitions Pack-Happy Themed (fun little kit with laugh, smile and fun as the words used). I used the page of fun definitions to make the "book" more realistic (blank pages are ok but more it's more fun with words...hehe). I know horrible right...oh well.
The sentiment is from Ginger's House...she has a ton of sentiments...the girl does one a day if you can imagine!
The sentiment of the front I created myself in PS...I couldn't find what I wanted anywhere. I then tore it, distressed it and glued it...super easy. I colored Jiggy with copics, trimmed and glued...not as easy...hehe. I like my "book"...I hope you so too.
A final note: If you like the book idea but are maybe not big on the colors well there is another kit in the store that has a book in it called The Age Of Innocence. It might suit you better.
Anyway I had fun this week making Jiggy happy reading. Thanks for stopping by and until next time take care.

My First Card As A DT!!

Here is my first card as a DT member for Stamping Dragon Designs. For those of you who are unsure of what that means let me take a moment to explain at least in part. DT stand for Design Team. That means I will use products from SDD (and other companies that sponsor the challenges) to make cards for the SDD Challenge Blog. The cards that I make are to help theory at least...hehe...others to join in the challenge and win prizes. 2012 Challenge 1 is Frames. If you choose to accept this challenge you have 14 days to do so make the prettiest cards ever and win yourself some really awesome images! YEAH!
So last time you got to meet my new friend, Jiggy (Framed)...well today I am very excited to introduce two more new dragon friends...Rupert (Framed) and Penny (Framed). Aren't they just the sweetest? It was fun getting to "know" them this week. I am looking forward to becoming very acquainted with them and all their other friends at SDD. Oh, and the other DTs too of course...hehe! If you hurry over to the Stamping Dragon Designs store now they are having a through January 10 the whole store is 40% off! WOOHOO! I love a sale! Just ask my poor husband...haha!
Now on to the particulars...this was one of those stops and starts cards. I had the idea of what I wanted to do for this challenge as soon as I saw the images. It was going to be so easy...yeah right! HAHA! When I started putting my idea in motion...well, let's just say it did not go as planned. But, I am very happy with how this turned's better then what I pictured in my wee little head. But getting it there was a challenge...hehe.
Anyway...Due to the length of this post already I am not going to list the other products I used this time. If you want the list leave me a message and I will send it to you. Fair enough? Until next time...take care.
