I made this card for my father-in-law (an avid golfer) for yep...you guessed it, his birthday. I used the November birthday circle and calender stamps from Bluebirdflats. She has also done the stamps in September and October so far and I have used both of those months to make special birthday cards also. The background paper is self-made with the Men's Golf stamp from Bee Cee Artistic. I re-seized the elements of the stamp separately and then staggered them to create the background I wanted. Then using the same stamp deleting the golf ball and copying the golf club to have a golf bag and two golf clubs to place on the front of the card. A quick text to my mother-in-law and I am able to make the golf bag the color of the one he owns and uses (it's all in the details...for me anyway). And the other details for this card are: images were colored with Copic markers, The black paper is Stampin' Up and the kraft paper is from the Paper Studio.
Just a note: I created the backgrounds needed on the other cards I made using the Bluebirdflats stamps but unfortunately I did not get pictures before they were given away. It has been fun making my own back grounds using different elements. I'm sure it is something that I will continue to do. It's a challenge and I have enjoyed rising to. That's all for now so until next time take care.

I am not a big fan of cooler weather for health reasons, but I do love the colors of fall and I think this card shows off some of the colors fairly well. Meet Laurel (Stand Out in the Crowd stamp set) from Tiddly Inks. She is sporting a very fallish outfit that was just screaming out to me to be put on a fall card. And I felt she was the perfect stamp for me to try out new-to-me technique. I have seen a number of different blogs where copics were used to give images a sepia look...so I finally got brave and decided to try it...and I think Laurel turned out looking pretty good. At least for a first try anyway. I am still "practicing" because I love this technique...I love the look! To me, it just seemed a fitting technique on a fitting image to make up a nice fall card. The rest of the card came together pretty easily. The cardstock is my fav, PTI in Orange Zest, Lemon Tart and Dark Chocolate. The patterned paper is from a Debbie Mumm stack I purchased several years ago at Jo-Ann Fabrics. I used a Fiskers punch for the leaves, PTI ribbon, Stampin' Up's slit punch to put the ribbon through and buttons from my stash.
I don't know for sure, but I think Laurel looks happy with the outcome...hehe. Anyway, I believe that is enough said for now... Thanks for stopping by and until next time, take care.
Ok, last one for tonight.
But I had to get this one in.
It is another card that I used my stamp manipulation skills on. And I am very pleased with the way it turned out. This is another stamp by The Stamping Boutique...actually it is two of their stamps changed and combined: Audrey Back to School and Ribbon which was a freebie. I removed an apple and ruler from Audrey's apron and made the ribbon small enough to look like one is pinned on her. And I placed one in her hand because she wants to share the ribbon with someone else to help raise awareness. I colored the images with copic markers and used some Bazzil paper to make the card base. The patterned paper is from a Paper Studio pad and the heart pearls are Paper Studio as well. The ribbon is from Stampin' Up.
Just a short one this time. Thanks for stopping by. Until next time, take care.
When I got the stamps for this round of the CDAC Progressive Challenge while looking at them this stamp was the one I dismissed immediately. I figured the would be the one I would be the least likely to use for a project, yet this is the only card I was able to get done this time. When I came up with the idea for a card I wanted to create this silly little critter seemed to then be the most logical one to use...so here it is the card I was destined to make. The little critter stamp was created by Digis by Phooka, and he is such a cutie!
He really grew on me.
In constructing the card I used Stampin' Up's Pear Pizazz paper to make the card base and the black is from them as well. I used Copics to color the little guys and the sentiment in the middle is from Stampin' Up also.
That's all for this one folks. Time to go link it up to the challenge and call it a day (or night as the case may be...haha)
Until next time, take care.
This card is for the monthly challenge at Scrappers Delights.
This card shows one of the things I love to best with digital stamps...combine or manipulate them to make them different. It is fun to see what I can do. It started out of necessity...low funds and so many themes I don't have the right stamp for(and limited funding to get one). So I would take this stamp and that one after I removed this part and combine them to make the stamp I needed.
I realized quickly that it was fun and it has become one of my favorite things to spend spare time doing. And now you know my secret...haha. There are actually six different stamps from Scrappers Delights on this card: Sabrina the Witch, Esmeralda, Evelin, Edie, and the broom Esmeralda is holding and cauldron came from the Witches Accessories stamp set. Whew! I think it makes a pretty sweet scene and it was a test of skills and will. But I really like the way it turned out! And my adviser, Brittany (yes, she helped me again) and I both thought it needed no color...that it would just detract from the feeling the combined stamps give. I used Stampin' Up paper to make the card base and Georgia Pacific to print the stamps on. The background paper is another from Bearly Mine Designs,
and the ticket stamp is from When Scrap Hits The Fun. The buttons are from my stash and I used DMC floss in the button. So there you have it, another challenge card done! Woohoo! Wish me luck.
Thanks for stopping by. Take care.
Although I am working on cards for different challenges this card was just for fun. This image is from Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps. I am not sure what the actual name of this stamp is and there is a story behind that; Stitchy Bear has had collaboration sets of stamps you can get each month is you spend $10. This one was from the set last month (if I remember correctly) and before I got back to the site to find the name disaster struck for them. Their site crashed and they lost EVERYTHING! I have not seen her back in the store so far and so... She was listed as One in the set...not much of a name. I think she is very sweet and "sweet" as the saying goes these days.
Stitchy Bear has a whole series of stamps of this style. I love them and want them all! My Girl, Brittany likes them too...which makes it even better! She doesn't stamp with me but I value her opinion on what is "sweet" and what isn't.
She is in the know on such things (being 17) and I am usually not (
being older than that...haha).
Enough of that lets get back to the card: I used Copics to color her, the buttons are from Hobby Lobby's grandma's grab bags and the paper is a digital from Bearly Mine Designs found here. She has some really great papers. I was not a big fan of digital papers before but having used some of hers I am sold. The Happy Halloween stamp is from Bird's Cards. That is another place that is worth the visit! It has tons of wonderful digital stamps and svg cut files too all for free! My card is pretty simple in construction but I think the stamp and the paper make it a stunning card (I am biased thought...hehe). And the wordart and buttons add just the right touch. What do you think?
So, I am off to work on some challenge cards. Be back soon. Until then take care and thanks for stopping by.
This card is for the purple, orange, green and black challenge over at Digital Delights.
The image is Audra the Witch from none other than Digital Delights. Isn't she just the sweetest and she is on sale right now. I used Photoshop and recolored her (pretty neat little trick...I love Photoshop!). I chose to use black as the background instead of having a black Audra...the black was just begging for color upsetting my beautiful balance...hehe. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder for said background, a Martha Stewart punch (her punches are awesome!) and Offray ribbon. The pumpkin button is from my stash (probably from Hobby Lobby grandma grab bags...good stuff there)and the leaves are from Favorite Findings. The "trick or treat" puffy stickers are from Cloud 9. The cardstock is from several different companies:
white is good ole' Georgia Pacific, black from Stampin' Up, and the purple is core'dinations. For a finishing touch I used a glitter pen on some of the dots in the background.
So there you have it. Card #2 in the run of challenge cards that I am working on. I have more to go so I had better get busy! Thanks for stopping by. And until next time, take care.
