It's Official!

Just a post to let you know I was one of the ladies chosen to be a DT Member for Stamping Dragon Designs! Woohoo! So you will be seeing more of Jiggy and many other cute stamps! There is a lot in store for me and you as my followers...so lets buckle in and hang on for the ride! It's going to be a fun one!

Yep, that's right...this particular card was created with the hope of becoming a Design Team Member. Woohoo! So a lot is riding on this baby...hopes, dreams and a little boost to the ego never hurt anyone...haha! But seriously I would like to have this opportunity. I like a challenge. I enjoy making projects and timeline and schedules do not scare me so I decided to jump off the edge and throw my hat in the ring...so to speak.
Let me introduce you to my newest little friend Jiggy. He likes Christmas presents...a lot of them! The call was to use this stamp in a card. What better place for a dragon than in a castle And winter time being cold and castles being drafty will require a fireplace, right. So there you have entire scene the set for you as to how this card came to be what it is today. With a little bit of this and a little bit of that, Jiggy is warming by the fire ready to open his presents. And he is saying this is the best home (card) ever!  HAHA! 
Ok, so on to the meat of it all: Jiggy was colored with copics as was the fireplace freebie created by Ike's Art. The background inside the card was a freebie, Vlads Lair template, from There She Goes Stamps that I picked up off their blog. Thought it really was appropriate. The front of my card is digital scrapbook paper by Bearly Mine Designs found here. The sentiment is a freebie from Bird's Cards. They have ton of freebies and are worth a stop by as is Bearly Mine Designs. Paper is Stampin' Up Basic Black and white from Georgia Pacific. If I left anyone/anything out, please accept my apologies.

Ain't She Cute

I love, love , love Melon Headz Illustrating! Nikki does the coolest stamps and they are all free! I looked at my file and I have 349 and counting! She has anything from animals to baptism to print outs for kids to soldiers. She usually does one a day with a black and white and color of the same image. She is also working on an alphabet and is doing a letter a day. It is fabulous! I cannot wait to create something for my grandbabies with it! Thank you Nikki! 
I chose the birthday party girl image for this card. I this is too cute! I colored her with copics and the papers are from Co'ordinations (green and blue)and Stampin' Up (black). The ribbon and the Teeny Tiny Wishes sentiment are from Stampin' Up also. And along the right edge of the card I used the Ribbon Punch from Stampin' up...it has to be my favorite punch right now. You can get so many different looks from it just depending on how you use it. It is so sweet!

November Birthday

I made this card for my father-in-law (an avid golfer) for yep...you guessed it, his birthday. I used the November birthday circle and calender stamps from Bluebirdflats. She has also done the stamps in September and October so far and I have used both of those months to make special birthday cards also. The background paper is self-made with the Men's Golf stamp from Bee Cee Artistic. I re-seized the elements of the stamp separately and then staggered them to create the background I wanted. Then using the same stamp deleting the golf ball and copying the golf club to have a golf bag and two golf clubs to place on the front of the card. A quick text to my mother-in-law and I am able to make the golf bag the color of the one he owns and uses (it's all in the details...for me anyway). And the other details for this card are: images were colored with Copic markers, The black paper is Stampin' Up and the kraft paper is from the Paper Studio.   
Just a note: I created the backgrounds needed on the other cards I made using the Bluebirdflats stamps but unfortunately I did not get pictures before they were given away. It has been fun making my own back grounds using different elements. I'm sure it is something that I will continue to do. It's a challenge and I have enjoyed rising to. Fall is Here

I am not a big fan of cooler weather for health reasons, but I do love the colors of fall and I think this card shows off some of the colors fairly well. Meet Laurel (Stand Out in the Crowd stamp set) from Tiddly Inks. She is sporting a very fallish outfit that was just screaming out to me to be put on a fall card. And I felt she was the perfect stamp for me to try out new-to-me technique. I have seen a number of different blogs where copics were used to give images a sepia look...so I finally got brave and decided to try it...and I think Laurel turned out looking pretty good. At least for a first try anyway. I am still "practicing" because I love this technique...I love the look! To me, it just seemed a fitting technique on a fitting image to make up a nice fall card. The rest of the card came together pretty easily. The cardstock is my fav, PTI in Orange Zest, Lemon Tart and Dark Chocolate. The patterned paper is from a Debbie Mumm stack I purchased several years ago at Jo-Ann Fabrics. I used a Fiskers punch for the leaves, PTI ribbon, Stampin' Up's slit punch to put the ribbon through and buttons from my stash. 
I don't know for sure, but I think Laurel looks happy with the outcome...hehe. Anyway, I believe that is enough said for now... Thanks for stopping by and until next time, take care.

Thinkin' Pink

Ok, last one for tonight. But I had to get this one in. It is another card that I used my stamp manipulation skills on. And I am very pleased with the way it turned out. This is another stamp by The Stamping Boutique...actually it is two of their stamps changed and combined: Audrey Back to School and Ribbon which was a freebie. I removed an apple and ruler from Audrey's apron and made the ribbon small enough to look like one is pinned on her. And I placed one in her hand because she wants to share the ribbon with someone else to help raise awareness. I colored the images with copic markers and used some Bazzil paper to make the card base. The patterned paper is from a Paper Studio pad and the heart pearls are Paper Studio as well. The ribbon is from Stampin' Up.
