Challenge #1

You read it right folks...this is card # 1 for Challenges I am working. I have more to come over the next few days...until the 31 of the month really because that is when a lot of them end.
Enough about that...let's move on to the card in question.
This is for the month long challenge over at The Stamping BoutiqueThe Challenge is "Think Pink" in honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month. So I thought REALLY PINK for this one. It is one of The Stamping Boutique's very own called Poppies. They give two entries for using one of their stamps. Woohoo! This one worked out great and I got it as a freebie to boot! Got to love that! The paper is from Basic Grey's Lemonade collection (an oldie but a goodie...hehe). I could not believe how well the colors matched! The embrace life stamp (get it "stamp"...haha) was a freebie from When Scrap Hits The FunHer freebies are worth checking outThe doily is a Wilton, the ribbon is Hobby Lobby and the buttons are from my stash...so who knows. I used copics R81, R83 and R85 to color the posies and YG13 and YG17 to color the stems and grass.  That's it for this post folks...time to link this baby up to the Challenge Blog and move on to the next card.
Thanks for stopping by. Remember that comments are always welcome. Take care and have a good one.

Not Yet, Please

Here is another Christmas card using a Meljen's Designs stamp again. I love the word art they put out! They just added another one this week as a freebie. You can bet I grabbed that one right away and that you will be seeing it here in card form at some point between now and Christmas. What's great about their word art stamps is that they can be used paired with an image stamp or by itself as I have done here.
I colored the scarf and stitches with copics. As an added touch I used a glitter pen and went over the stitches, the words let it and the snowflakes. The picture just does not do it justice because it makes it really cute. The papers are from PTI: Stamper's White and Blueberry Sky. Have I mentioned I love this paper!?! This was another quickie using the same layout as my last Christmas card. If it works why mess with it, huh? My Christmas card making is well under way! Yeah!
Until next time...take care.

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

It's looking like Christmas on my desk anywayThere are digital stamps, stamps from Stampin' Up, assorted colors of Christmas papers and like products pretty much covering my desk. I have been trying to get a jump start on my cards this year. Last year was kind of a nightmare...I cut myself short on time to gt them done. I thought I had more time AND I misjudged how long it was going to take me to get them done. Had a few late nights there. And I am not interested in a repeat performance this year!

So here is one using a digital stamp from one of my favorite companies Meljens DesignsThis one was actually a Freebie. They have a new one every Monday. And if you missed any you can buy them in their shop for a $1. What a deal! They also have great challenges and card shares on their blog. A gallery packed full of ideas and they can also be found on Facebook.

I used PTI Stamper's White and Leaf Green paper. I love their paper as it is such a fantastic weight for cards. Hmmm...do you suppose they know that? And of course my favorite, copics to color the image.

A simple card but I likey! Thanks for looking and comments are always welcome! Until next time...take care.

Card Number Two

This card is Scaredy Cat from Designed 2 Delight. What a cutie. I colored him in with colored pencils. Something I don't do very often. I like the way it turned out. I also tried a new to me technique with a border punch and making the trim around him. It is a trial by fire technique but with nice results. The paper came from a stack I bought at JoAnne Fabric's a couple of years ago but I love the colors. It's nice weight cardstock too...makes me happy. The buttons are some I just had laying around and of course DMC floss. Simple card, but fun...love that!

That's all for this time. I will let you know if there comes anything noteworthy from my first challenge. Thanks for stopping by. Until next time...take care.

Time For Something New

So this week I joined CDAC (Crafter's Digital art Center) Progressive Challenge. In joining you get free digital stamps from some top companies in the business. The stamps then are to be used to make a card or up to three cards per image for the challenge. They give you two weeks for each challenge, which is sweet considering a lot of challenges only give a week. Well, anyway I came in kind of late...3 or 4 days to do my cards...doable just short on time. After joining they send you the stamps via e-mail...they didn't have my e-mail...they had Matt's. He was not looking for them...I didn't tell him to look for them. Not thinking about the account having his and not mine I e-mailed asking about them. They explained what happened and I just got the stamps today. No big deal except they needed to be in by midnight tonight! So with that said, don't judge the cards too harshly...just sayin'.

This one is Frankie Stein from Bonibleaux Designs. Isn't he a doll? He was fun to color using my copics. The pumpkin and Halloween are buttons from Hobby Lobby's Paper Studio bags...love those! And the paper was from Target's $1 area last year. I don't think the picture does Frankie or the paper justice. I am working on the photography still so bear with me.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check my second post for another challenge card.

Still Working On It

This is a card that I made for a challenge. But, alas, I was too late for said challenge. Such is life when you cannot figure out how to take photos of your cards yourself. It may be time to learn! This card was a fun one to make. Lots of different techniques: embossing, punching, paper piecing of sorts and I used reinkers to color floss for the thread! That was fun and messy! This was all Stampin Up products as it was for a challenge that required that...but my how things have changed...you will have to wait and see what I mean. Either until I learn how to take the pictures to look right or my photographer decides to have pity and take them for me...hehe.
Anyway, for now, this is what I have. Take care.

Too Long

I can't believe how long it has been since my last post. I have been trying some new things and will have photos posted soon. I hope.

This card is one of my all time favorites. It's one i look at and I am amazed that these little hands actually created it. Yeah, ME!

Anyway, it was for a good friend for her birthday. And she liked it too. Good thing!
